What is PIAA?

Pyrotechnics is a creative process of synthesising and implementing the knowledge and skills of those engaged in the industry in order to enhance the public's enjoyment of all manner of celebrations or artistic presentations whilst having due regard to the safety of all. It involves a diversity of related functions ranging from the development and manufacture of pyrotechnic effects through to the importation, preparation, construction, arrangement and discharge of pyrotechnic works. The members of the Pyrotechnics Industry Association of Australia are bound by a common commitment to promote the Pyrotechnics Industry in Australia and to facilitate its practice with all due professionalism and safety for the benefit of the industry and the enjoyment of the whole community.
